This exhibition explores the concept of 'Jari' (one's place / seat) — not merely as a physical location, but as a point of existence where personal identity meets the vast currents of history. It captures the sublimity of individuals who maintain their 'place' amidst monumental shifts and social structures. By tracing family histories and paths of migration, the works reflect on how we define our own coordinates in an ever-changing world.

전시 소개
'자리'는 우리가 머무는 공간을 넘어, 삶의 기억과 정체성이 쌓여가는 존재의 좌표를 의미한다.
본 전시는 가족사와 이주의 경험, 그리고 역사와 사회의 변화 속에서 형성되는 개인의 이야기를 통해 '자리'의 의미를 탐구한다. 거대한 시대의 흐름 속에서도 자신만의 자리를 지켜내고 만들어가는 사람들의 모습을 조명하며, 관람객이 스스로의 자리와 삶의 궤적을 되돌아보도록 초대한다.
서로 다른 서사와 표현 방식을 지닌 세 작가의 작품은 '자리'라는 하나의 주제를 통해 개인과 공동체, 기억과 역사, 이동과 정착의 의미를 새롭게 사유하게 한다.

Novel One
Jessie's Story 제시이야기
Original Diary: Yang Wu-jo & Choi Seon-hwa · Adaptation & Art: Park Kun-woong
This graphic novel is an adaptation of The Diary of Jessie, a record kept by Yang Wu-jo and Choi Seon-hwa, a prominent couple of independence activists who served in the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. It chronicles their journey as they followed the government's relocation across China while fleeing Japanese attacks during the colonial era. Heralded as the Korean parallel to The Diary of Anne Frank, it offers a rare, intimate look at the lives of those who dedicated themselves to national sovereignty while nurturing the next generation under the harshest conditions of war.

Set during the Japanese occupation, this novel brings to light the heroic resistance of the haenyeo (female divers) of Jeju Island. Kim Hong-mo uses vivid, colored illustrations to reclaim this marginalized history of courageous women who fought for their community's survival.
